BUILDING YOUR ITINERARY:
Our clients have all different requests and in most cases, we have to design custom-made itineraries. We understand that you may ask for changes (hotels, itinerary, dates of arrival etc) after our proposal, and we are happy to help you design your perfect trip! However, we may ask for a deposit after a few changes, as we can’t proceed to too many changes and keep on working on your trip without having a guarantee that you will book your trip with us. At this point clients will decide to commit themselves to book with us or refuse it. If you wish to make a change once the itinerary is set and you have paid us a deposit, the only fee that will be charged is the penalty that might apply our providers in some cases. We won’t charge you any fee for our company.
PRICES BREAKDOWN:
We do not give costs breakdowns. If we did so, that would cost us much big amounts of time and money and our costs would be higher, and so would our prices be! If you book with us, it will cost you an average of 0% to 10 % more than if you would make all arrangements by yourself (if feasible!). We build our prices adding a reasonable amount on top of our costs.
We try to provide itineraries that suit your request, with many details and all what is/is not included in our rate. With all these “ingredients”, people then have the choice and decide what is better for them: organizing their trip by themselves or rely in our expertise and experience. Remember that tourism is a quite new activity in Nicaragua, and the only way to get things done, to commit people etc, is to be on site and have the experience a senior tour operator has, like we do.
PAYMENT AND PAYMENT METHODS
A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required to guarantee your reservation upon acceptance of our proposal. The balance is normally due 30 days prior to the start date of departure. During Christmas and also for groups, the balance is due 45 days before arrival.
For deposits you can send us a check in US $ (personal or company or Bank check), or make a bank wire transfer (minimum U$ 1500 for wire transfers). In our office we also accept cash (U$ or local currency) and Traveller’s Checks (only with the proof of purchase of the Traveller’s Checks that your bank provides you).
You can also make payment directly in our bank account in the USA, please ask us the details.
Credit cards are accepted. However the (only one!) credit card company in Nicaragua charges us a commission of 5 %, which is a very high rate. So if you wish to pay by credit card, we assume 2.5 % of the commission and we charge you 2.5 % of the total you are paying through credit card. It may be convenient for you (benefits, insurance etc) to pay a part of your trip in credit card and the balance in another way, if you wish.
Once guests tell us what their desired method to place a deposit is, we provide them instructions on how to do so.
CANCELLATION POLICY
For any cancellation received in our offices 30 days or more prior to your arrival, there is a full refund, minus deposits to our providers (hotels etc) that are not refundable, and a fee of 15% of the entire cost of the trip. If the cancellation is received in our office between 29 to 15 days prior to scheduled arrival, there is a 50% refund, minus deposits. There will be no refund for cancellations made 14 or fewer days prior to the trip.

LIABILITY
Nicaragua Adventures assume no responsibility for loss, injury during the trip, delay, extra expense due to acts of God, weather, customs regulations, domestic and international flights delays, loss or damage of baggage or delay in receiving it and cost to send them to customer, strikes, wars or anything beyond our control, loss of life. We act as an agent between the customer and all the services provided to our guests (hotels, rental cars, restaurants, local flights and transportation companies, boats etc), and don’t assume any responsibility in case of failure. We reserve the right to change or cancel itinerary and choice of providers due to any emergency situations and do not assume the possible costs of such changes.
We highly recommend you to take a cancellation and travel insurance (see below).
CANCELED TRIPS
In case we have to cancel a trip for any reason beyond our control, we assume no responsibility for any expenses incurred for air tickets, equipment, travel insurances, etc. In case of such a cancellation, customers will be notified as soon as possible and their deposit will be fully reimbursed.
INSURANCES
We very highly recommend you to take a travel insurance to cover the following (The best way is to subscribe to an insurance in your country, before you travel):
Luggage loss and delay, delivering your delayed luggage to your hotel. Please note that most airlines do not assume delivery cost of delayed luggage.
Medical expenses and evacuation in case of accident and sickness, etc. According to the location where you may be during your vacation Medicare and evacuation can be long and difficult and then expensive.
Trip cancellation or interruption because of a problem you or one of your familiars may have before or during your trip.
Trip cancellation due to the airline or travel agency in your country.
In no case Nicaragua Adventures can assume the cost of the above mentioned.
