Family Multi Sport Adventure (8 days – 7 nights)

Looking for adventure and seeing the highlights at the same time? This is the place! This multi-adventure trip involves kayaking in Lake Nicaragua, discovering Granada while riding your bike, experiencing an active volcano during the night, hiking down a crater lake or “caldera”, hiking in the cloud forest of a volcano in Ometepe Island, and some time at leisure at the beach, with optional activities. Daily activities are included except at the beach; a good physical condition is required.

Day 1: Managua Airport – Granada

On your arrival at the International airport in Managua, you will be greeted by our driver who will then transfer you to your Hotel Patio del Malinche 2* sup, located in the historical district. Meals: –

This is a day full of adventures! Go biking in the city to admire the neo classic colonial style buildings. Granada has an interesting background history and is known for its beautiful well-preserved architecture. Visit places like the central park, the popular and very old market and the Iglesia La Merced; we climb the stairs inside the tower and enjoy greats views of the city. Then, bike all the way to Lake Nicaragua and arrive in the Asese peninsula following rural path, enjoy pristine views and nature. There, you will go for a kayak tour on the Lake to discover some of the rich flora and fauna of the Isletas. You will be able to observe some of the many species of tropical birds that live in the islands and the local “Isleños” fishing. This great day is complete with a night visit Masaya National Park, an active volcano currently displays gaseous activity and most recently a red-glowing lava lake was originated and it is visible inside the main crater of the volcano. Return to Granada, free time to relax and explore the city. Overnight at Hotel Patio del Malinche. Meals: B

Hike down Apoyo Lagoon – GranadaDay 3: Granada – Hike down Apoyo Lagoon – Granada

Leave Granada and travel to Catarina, a small native village overlooking the Apoyo lagoon and Lake Nicaragua, Granada and the Masaya volcano. From there you will hike down inside the dry forest in the “caldera” of the extinct volcano, which now hosts a beautiful lagoon: The Apoyo Lagoon. On the way, observe birds and possibly monkeys. Once you reach the lagoon, transfer to a small resort located in front of the water. Swim and relax in Nicaragua’s purest lagoon, in a beautiful natural environment. Overnight in Granada at Hotel Patio del Malinche. Meals: B-L

– San Jorge – Ometepe Island Tour – Ometepe IslandDay 4: Granada – San Jorge – Ometepe Island Tour – Ometepe Island

Breakfast and transfer to San Jorge to take the ferry to Ometepe Island. Upon arrival our local driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel visiting this fabulous island on the way. Experience a relaxing activity in the island; stop in a farm (Finca) and take a horseback riding tour to discover more about this paradise of nature in company of a local expert. Become a Nicaraguan cowboy or cowgirl today! Then visit “El Ceibo” museum, the Green Puddles lagoon in Charco Verde Reserve with great views of Volcano Conception. In Santo Domingo beach, you will enjoy lunch. Later, go to el Ojo de Agua a natural pool of clear water supplied by a river that originates from Conception Volcano. Overnight at Hotel San Juan de La Isla 2* sup. Meals: B-L

Day 5: Ometepe Island

Early morning transfer in company of your local guide to the south of the island near Merida and San Ramon, in the shores of the Maderas volcano. From there you will start (with your local guide) hiking the Maderas volcano, one of Ometepe’s 2 volcanoes, hosting an extensive cloud forest and wildlife. It will take you around 1 hour to reach the San Ramon waterfall. See wildlife on the trail; birds and monkeys. Then, transfer back to your hotel, driving along the coastal road. Overnight at Hotel San Juan de La Isla. Meals: B

: Ometepe Island – San Jorge – TolaDay 6: Ometepe Island – San Jorge – Tola

Breakfast and transfer to the docks to take the Ferry back to the mainland. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you for transfer you to to a beautiful Lodge located in front of the Ocean in Tola area. (we can also include a hotel in San Juan del Sur village instead, if you wish so). The area of Tola is still quite unknown unlike its “sister area” San Juan del Sur located south, but boasts the country’s most pristine beaches. White and pink sands, tranquil bays… Overnight at Aqua Wellness Resort & Spa 4*. Meals: B

 Tola AreaDay 7: Tola Area

Days at leisure at this remote beach resort: Beach toys and yoga classes are included in rates. The following activities are offered optional at the hotel: sport fishing – walk in trails – boat tours for dolphins and turtle watching. Night at Aqua Wellness Resort & Spa. Meals: B

Tola – Managua AirportDay 8: Tola – Managua Airport

In the morning, leave this wonderful lodge. Your driver will transfer you north until reaching the International Airport to board your flight back to your country.
